A letter to our members

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!  At the start of the 2025 new year, I and the new Board of Directors will lead EIS.  Don Dietrick as Treasurer, Amos Scheimann as Secretary, Don Burgess as Director, and Franklyn Blaha as Director.

I am honored and excited to step into the role of President of EIS. I want to thank Gary Nelson and his leadership team for their dedication and hard work over the past years. Their efforts have established a strong working relationship with all the agencies we serve. I am committed for EIS to continue to make a meaningful impact with the First Responder Community.

Before I continue, here is my brief biography for those who do not know me very well.  I retired after 28 years working as a police officer in CA. I worked numerous assignments in the police department; including being a member of the k9 unit, detective in the Special Investigations Unit, Gang Unit Investigator and Vice.  After I retired, I served on the Board of Directors for 3 of the several non-profit organizations I volunteered at in CA.  I believe in giving back to my community, the Law Enforcement Community, and the First Responder Community.

Currently, I am a volunteer call taker with Copline, a 24/7 nationwide crisis hotline for current and retired law enforcement personnel and, of course, a volunteer with EIS (since 2020).

An organization is as strong as its membership; transparency and collaboration is a priority.  I invite each and all of you to share your thoughts, ideas, and feedback on how we can best serve our mission.  Your involvement is the key to our success.  I encourage all of you to participate as much as you can with call-outs and events.  I look forward to working with each of you.
