On a warm weekend day in early September, the Pikes Peak Club sponsored an event to raise funds for Emergency Incident Support. The Colorado Springs Fire Department’s engine #1, alongside Emergency Incident Support volunteers, Spiderman, and Spiderwoman, gathered in a vacant lot opposite the Switchbacks stadium in downtown Colorado Springs to promote EIS’s mission to “Serve those who serve.” Local families attending the game had the opportunity to stop by the booths to pick up complimentary snacks and beverages provided by EIS and engage with volunteers about the significance of “Serving those who Serve.”

Children toured Colorado Springs Fire Department engine #1, learning about its functions from firefighters. They explored the EIS52 support vehicle, which provides essential supplies for first responders. The highlight was sitting in the driver’s seat of EIS52 and pressing the loud, earsplitting siren button.

Spiderman and Spiderwoman appeared to showcase their outfits and interact with attendees. Their primary mission was to honor the true heroes of the Pikes Peak region: the firefighters who risk their lives to rescue others and protect property, many of whom volunteer for rural fire districts.

As Emergency Incident Support volunteers, we proudly serve those who serve.
